Rachel was my Sunday school teacher at the Russell Pilgrim church. To this day I remember some of the lessons she taught us using flannel graph. She was a wonderful woman.

Words can not express the sorrow I feel, my wife and I wish to express our deepest sympathy to Rachel's family and friends. God has gained another angel, and those of us left behind have lost an important part of our lives.
I have lived across from Rachel for most of my life, and my wife has become great friends with her as well. I started going to her home when I was just a child, and have spent may years around her. My wife has always enjoyed the little "tea parties" that they had at Rachel's home.
She has graced our table with her presence on many occasions for dinner, and filled our evenings with joy and fulfillment from her sense of humor, her laugh, her gift of great conversation. I have always teased her relentlessly about breaking her lawn mower whenever she got to close to something that caused damage. She always took it in stride with a huge smile and laughter when I would tell her it was easier to cut stumps and firewood with the chainsaw and not her mower.
We both feel a huge sense of loss from Rachel's passing, and will miss seeing her out in her yard taking care of her flowers and seeing her flag up every day. And her knocking on her window to wave at us when we were close to the road or at the mailbox. Rachel has been like a member of our family.
God Speed my dear friend, may you forever be in God's grace.

Sister Rachel Miner has been there for me from the time I was born in 1951, and she has remained a lifelong friend. My first memories are of her giving me blessings by placing her hand on my head and saying "Bless your heart." She repeated that expression many times over the years when I would tell her of some joy or woe I had experienced. She led us in prayer uncountable times over the years, and her prayers were the best anyone could offer up to God. They were lengthy, earnest appeals that she made almost always on her knees. Her body may have been as thin as a reed, but her faith and compassion was strong as steel. She was always steady... unshakable... a rock in times of trouble... a pillar of the Russell Pilgrim Holiness Church and the surrounding communities. I never knew her true age, and never asked. But because of her maturity and sage advice, I always thought she was closer to my grandmother's age than she was to my parents'. So, I am surprised to find out now that she was a year younger than my dad. I will sorely miss you on this earth, Sister Miner, but I know you will be waiting and beckoning from the other shore. Your prayers for my well-being have been answered... and my heart has been truly blessed for having known you. You've earned your rest, and may you take it now in the arms of our loving Savior.

We are sending our sympathy to the family of Rachel Miner. We remember Rachel as a blessing to the Russell Pilgrim Holiness Church. Rachel will be missed but remembered as a lady who did so much in the church. We wish to remember in prayer her sister and relatives. May God be with each of you.
