Dear Uncle Bert ~ Thank you so much for all of the wonderful memories. Thank you for going for walks with us with Frosty. Thank you for letting us babysit and play with him. Thank you for the fun sleepovers and pizza parties, one of them being when you let us stay when we were stuck in a blizzard and then driving us to Oswego the next day to get the van. Thank you for visiting with us at the campground and roasting marshmallows. Thank you for the nonstop laughs and jokes you liked to play on us and for being a good sport when we played jokes on you :) You always let kids be kids. Stopping at your house was always one of the fun things we looked forward to of going home to New York. It was always fun to visit you, your bird, Gustov, and Frosty. Thank you for appreciating and keeping our drawings we made for you. Most of all, thank you for being the best uncle any kid could wish for. We know you have your wings and are an angel watching over us now, Uncle Bert. Keep the angels in heaven laughing. We will love, miss and remember you always. Love, Chelsea, Connor and Benjamin

Dear Uncle Bert ~ You were my uncle, but actually you felt more like a big brother to me. Thank you so much for all of the wonderful and fun times growing up and when I became an adult. Thank you and Frosty for going for walks and to the parks with me and Chelsea. Thank you for letting us babysit him. Thank you for taking the kids to the drive-in. When I moved away, thank you for keeping me company on the phone on my long walks. Thank you for the laughs and the wise advice. Thank you for the Everly Brothers concert with Tammi and the New Kids concert with Chris. I hope there are no one way streets in heaven :) Thank you for having me, Chelsea, Connor and Ben spend the night when we were caught in lake effect snow. I always wanted an excuse to camp out at your house anyway, but really I didn't need one. You were the most awesome uncle anyone could ever have. Shaun misses you like crazy as well. He hates facebook but wanted to make a page just to chat with you. He always enjoyed commenting on your posts, and he said you are such a funny, nice guy. Thank you for visiting us at the campground and for going to Chelsea's birthday party there. I always stopped at your house first when coming home and then last before leaving. I will miss that. I always really looked forward to seeing you, and I wanted you to come to Ohio to visit so we could see the covered bridges you liked and have fun. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Grandma and Uncle David when you were such a young guy in your 20s and 30s. Many wouldn't sacrifice for their family as you did. You became a hero on Chelsea's birthday when you helped save two lawyers from being attacked at your work in Watertown. You were and are a one of a kind person, Uncle Bert <3 Thank you for everything. Most of all, thank you for being you! Your whole family will love and miss you forever. Your memory will live on in the good we will all do. Forever loved and always missed. Please give Grandma and Uncle David and the others who have passed before big hugs and kisses from all of us! <3 Thank you for being a brother to me. You are an awesome man! Love you Uncle Bert <3

I still can't get myself to believe you are gone. Life and the family will never be the same without listening to your stories and how loving you were to everyone. I now know how precious life really is and you go to show that. You were truly one of the best uncles and I know how much every single one of us will deeply miss seeing your presence around. I know you are in great hands now with no pain and you'll forever be looking down on us all. Love you uncle Bert

So hard to write this. I am still in shock and disbelief. Praying for your family and friends and everyone you have blessed with your presence. You were a unique individual. One of a kind. With a heart as big as the world. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to get to know you a little bit. You always treated me with respect and please know how much you are loved and how sorely you will be missed. I have alot of fond memories that I will carry with me forever. If I have any regrets, it would be that we didn't keep in better touch. But I pray for your soul and I hope you are free from pain and are in a much better place. I hope to see you again at The Pearly Gates. R.I.P. my friend and God Bless!!!
