NORWOOD - Mildred L. Hubbard, age 90, formerly of the Norwood, area passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at her home in Cicero. Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, Edwards on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert L. Billings officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery, Fine. Mildred was born on June 28, 1923 in Croghan to the late Ceylon and Celia (Hamilton) Durham. She graduated from the Oswegatchie School in 1941 and married Richard F. Hubbard on February 9, 1943 at the Oswegatchie Baptist Parsonage. Mrs. Hubbard worked as a cafeteria worker for the Potsdam State College for 25 years. She lived in Fine, Gouverneur, Canton, Norwood and Palermo NY before moving to Cicero. She was a former member of the Norwood Free Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Richard of Cicero; two sons, Leslie of Clay, Lloyd of Cicero; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Vernon, Clayton, Ceylon Jr. and Edward; one sister, Marguerite Traver; several half brothers and many nieces and nephews. Mildred is predeceased by a son, Larry Hubbard; three sisters, Hazel Vandenberg, Keitha Webb and Marie Parmelee, and two brothers, Martin Durham and Donald Durham.
