MACOMB- Paul C. Pagel, age 55, of Macomb, NY passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 at his home under the loving care of his family and St. Lawrence Valley Hospice.

There will be calling hours for Paul on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. His funeral will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James Warrington officiating. Burial will follow at Edwardsville Cemetery. Paul was born on April 28, 1969 in Burlington, VT to Carl and Jane (Hamilton) Pagel. He graduated from U-32 High School in East Montpelier, VT, then went to Champlain College and then went to North Country Community College where he graduated in 2008 with a degree in Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology. He worked as a Radiologic Technologist for Gouverneur Hospital for fifteen years.

Paul was very talented. He has built canoes, screen printed t-shirts, sand blasted rocks, and would often help a friend on weekends in a granite shed engraving headstones. He was always tinkering and inventing stuff. He had invented a potato picker that attached to the back of the tractor. He even made a homemade potato launcher for his nephew and niece to launch. He was an avid duck hunter; he enjoyed fishing and camping; he was an Eagle Scout; won the High School record in the shot put and discus in high school track and field, and was a very witty, funny and selfless person. Paul will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and quick wit. Paul had an uncanny ability to easily turn any stranger into a friend. He generously lavished people with his talents, knowledge, and listening ear.

Paul is survived by his parents, Carl and Jane Pagel; two brothers and their wives, Jon and Heather and Brian and Erika; and several aunts, uncles, a niece, nephews and cousins. Paul is predeceased by a brother, Erik Pagel who died in infancy.
