NORTH BANGOR- Marletha J. "Candy" Jones, age 63, of North Bangor, passed away suddenly at her home.
There will be a memorial service for Marletha on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Cooks Corners. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be made online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Marletha was born on September 8, 1949 in Carthage, NY to the late Owen O. and Iva B. (Patchin) Tyler. She attended Gouverneur Central School. Candy married Douglas Jones on September 6, 1969 at the Edwards Methodist Church with Rev. Bodrey officiating. Doug passed away on October 16, 2011.
Candy worked as a chef for the Cranberry Lake Inn for 14 years and then was a Pastry Chef at the Cross Roads in Moira for 15 years. Recently she was a certified Nurses Aide and worked home health care through Franklin County. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.
Candy is survived by three daughters, Desiree M. and Jed McDonald of North Bangor, Heather E. and Richard Burdt of Saranac Lake and Danielle K. Russell of Malone; a brother, Frank and Alice (Chick) Tyler of Fullerville; three sisters, Mina Bell Bresett of Lake Bona Part, Betty and John Hadfield of Fullerville and Marjorie and Michael Crowner of Fullerville; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Brycen and Aubryn and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Douglas; two brothers, Leon and Owen Tyler and five sisters, Marlene Hadfield, Barbara Ann Tyler, Maria Tyler, Celia Tyler and Mary Jane Solon.
Donations may be made in Candy's memory to the Wesleyan Church of Cooks Corners.
