To Laura's family: I want to send my heartfelt sympathies to each of you. Laura was a good friend and I feel such a void since she has passed. She always had a kind word to pass along every morning on Facebook and we all miss her on her GHS memory blog page. It seems life was not fair and took her way too soon... I just wanted you to know I loved her and will always keep the memories of her close to my heart ❤

Laura and I met in early 2000’s. I brought my therapy dog, Noelle to Gouverneur Library. Laura was in charge of the summer reading program at the time. We shared a love of animals, crafts and especially books. May she rest with God. She will be missed.

Laura and I were besties in Junior High. We shared a first name, and often sat next to each other in classes where seats were assigned alphabetically. We had sleepovers at each others homes. I remember how good her bedroom always smelled, the gentle kindness of her mother, and how long her hair really was when it was wet. I am so sorry to hear that she has passed, but I also am comforted knowing she is at peace. My prayers to her family, and to her in the place she is now.

Laura will be greatly missed. She was so helpful at the library, always had a cheerful greeting on Facebook, and extended many sweet, caring, and meaningful messages. Her country art and whimsical postings are missed. May she be free of suffering and pain. Brenda Stevens Woodward

Laura was a seventh grader and the daughter of my fellow English teacher at the Junior High on Barney Street back in 1969-70. She was so cute with her blond curls and sweet personality. When I found her again so many years later, I was so happy. Her choice of lovely country art, her historical sense, her humor and her genial ways dealing with those who looked back fondly at this sweet town on Rte 11 - all made me so happy every time I saw she had posted something. I wasn't aware how ill she was for several years. That hard time is over, but I wish if she were healthy, that she could have been here with us many more years. Love and condolences to all her family and friends.

Just a note to let you know you and your family are in my thoughts. She touched the lives of many without realizing how much each act of kindness meant to others. Her memories will be tucked away in each of our hearts.
