Uncle Tom was the apple of his mother’s eye. I was always amazed at the tenderness they showed towards each other. He was adored by all five of his sisters, and they were all proud of the man that he had become. He would beam in their presence, joke with them, and smile that unique broad smile of his. The love between them was contagious, and felt by all in the room. As a child, I was fortunate to have spent time in his Hannawa Falls home visiting his step daughter “Jackie”. I grew to know a kind, witty, intelligent man that always found time to color, and cut out paper dolls with us. He became my favorite uncle in those early years, and has remained so to this day. I will forever miss him.
