Obituary of Robert D. Storie

WEGATCHIE – Robert Dale Storie, age 71, of Wegatchie and formerly of Gouverneur, passed away at home on October 15, 2020. There will be a Celebration of Life held at his home at 175 County Route 12, Antwerp NY on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., beginning with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Robert was born on February 17, 1949 in Gouverneur to the late John P. and Ella L. (Brasie) Storie. He graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1969 and married Darlene Hosmer on August 10, 1975 at the Hermon Baptist Church. Mr. Storie worked as a loader operator for St. Joe Mineral Corporation for 17 years and had previously worked at the Great American in Gouverneur. He enjoyed fishing, calligraphy, building things, playing cards and grilling. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Storie, children, Joseph Storie, Dustin and his wife, Leigh Storie, and Bobbie Sue Moore, foster children, Danielle Davis and Renita Hess, and brothers, Wayne and Betty Storie, and Thomas and Caroline Storie. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Zachary, Theodore, Ella, Jonah, Alivia, and Jenning, and his foster grandchildren, Daniel, Brittney, Zachary, Samantha, Mary, Angel, Patty and Caleb. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings, Jenny Kent, Daniel Storie and Edwin Storie. Donations in memory of Robert may be made to Friends 4 Pound Paws, PO Box 394, Gouverneur NY 13642.
