I was blessed to have worked with Dan at NYS DOT for many years. He was one of the good guys!! His work ethic, personality and even his haircut reminded me so much of my dad. Serious, hard-working and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. We loved Dan in our office and I remember him fondly.
My sincere condolences to Connie, his family and friends during this time.

I would like to give my condolences to all the Phalen family. I worked with Dan many years at DOT, but my relationship along with my family's relationship with Dan was much more than work. I considered Dan as a good friend in the deepest sincerity. He was good to me in ways that were very much appreciated and in return i did the same for him. so sorry for the passing of Dan.

The last time I saw him I hugged, kissed him and told him I loved him. He said he loved me too. I started talking about his mustang he had. I remember helping him clean his green mustang one day. He showed such pride in that car and taught me what is need to take care of something you love. That was when I grew to love mustangs. He smiled my memories that day.
He was a quiet but strong and such a smart person. I remember going to the lumber mill with him and my dad. It was great to listen to him explain how the mill operated. Uncle Danny was always smiling. I will always remember Uncle Danny.

Danny Phalen was married to my sister, Connie, and I was Matron of Honor at their wedding. Danny was such a good person who was so completely devoted to his family and church, plus he was so willing to help anyone at any time. He fought such a good fight with the terrible disease of cancer, He will be greatly missed by so many people.

I worked with Dan when he was a handyman in Alex Bay many years ago. He could truly fix anything! He always had a little grin and a twinkle in his eye. He loved his family fiercely and often talked about his boys. I was planning my wedding that summer and he shared his perspective on family with me. He was a truly great guy. My sincere condolences to you all.
