Obituary of Emily M. Nolan

OSWEGATCHIE – Emily Margaret Nolan, age 84, passed away on January 9, 2020 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. There will be a private spring burial at St. Michael's Cemetery in Fine. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Edwards. Emily was born on July 30, 1935 in Ogdensburg to the late Francis P. and Anne (Collins) Murphy. She graduated from the Clifton-Fine Central School in 1952 and attended CCBI Business School in Syracuse. She worked as a secretary at the Newton Falls Paper Mill for over 30 years and then went onto to Appleton Papers in Wisconsin. She also worked for the Waterbury Felt Company in Oriskany, NY before retiring in 2001 and moving back to Oswegatchie. Emily enjoyed spending time with her children & their families. She especially enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives. Emily was actively involved in many organizations throughout her life. She spent many hours on the Town of Fine Board of Directors, Clifton-Fine Arena Committee, volunteered at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Gift Shop and Gouverneur Hospital Gift Shop to name a few. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Jim (Nordie), Bill (Kim); 7 grandchildren, Jim (Amber), Matt (Bernadette), Cale, Lyndsay (Justin) Macagg, Bob Millican, Wyatt and Emmett Shaul, and 10 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Avery, Linden, Easton, Maeve, Nolan, Abbylyn, Kylie and Mason.
