STAR LAKE- Patrick W. Nolan, age 84, of Oswegatchie, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Clifton-Fine Hospital in Star Lake. Patrick was born on May 9, 1935 in Watertown, NY to the late Melvin M. and Florida M. (Bernier) Nolan. He graduated from Clifton-Fine Central School in 1953. He worked as a machine tender on all four machines at the Newton Falls Paper Mill, where he worked for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. In his early years, he was well known for playing baseball. He got a contract to play in the major leagues for the New York Giants baseball team, but changed his mind shortly after arriving. Surviving are two sons and their wives, James and Nordie and William and Kimberly, all of Oswegatchie; and four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Patrick is predeceased by a son, Thomas Nolan and a brother, Donald Nolan. As per Patrick's wishes, services will be private. Arrangements are with French Family Funeral Home, Star Lake.
