I knew Walt as a fellow amateur radio club member - I was mentioning over the air last Saturday evening that i hadn't heard Walt on the radio for a while. Another member gave notice that he stopped to see Walt and that Walt had fallen and been injured and was recovering. When Walt would call into the net,(ham radio group check) he was usually the first to sign in,- he was lightning fast and i would here him almost before I left off the transmit key ; I will long remember the cadence and tenor of his voice as he spoke his call sign N2BO -
Off the air when we would see each other at various radio events, Walt was easy to be around and always helpful in assisting in whatever he could. He was particularly generous with young, new and un-knowledgeable operators. Rest in Peace N2BO - I will both miss you and fondly remember you.
