Danny and I were very close friends during my high school and college years. Many fond memories are etched in my brain of time spent in the home of his parents as well as mischievous outings with his brother, Russ. One night, we hopped the fence and went for a dip in the Silver Lake pool. Quite regularly we went to 'buck night at the movies'. We even talked about dressing up like women to get the cheaper price on 'ladies night'. "Stripes" was the last movie I saw with him before leaving for Marine Bootcamp. We also played many a game of tennis and Risk.
To my chagrin, we did not have much contact living so far apart; I never even knew he was battling cancer. His passing makes me sorrowful, but I am comforted knowing that his pain has ended and he is saving a place for me in line at the Perly Gates.

In spite of the sadness we feel right now, what I would most like to remind people of is that Dan was not a sad person. He had a playful spirit, a quick wit and a great sense of humor. You would often catch him chuckling (or even giggling) over various things. He was always pleasant company. -Robin K.

Danny and I taught across the hall last winter and spring. I had discovered that I also had cancer in January. We were two fifth grade teachers with cancer determined to finish the year. I think that Danny sometimes, was more concerned about me than he was for himself, which reflects the type of man that he was. We had many discussions about the Lord and resting in him. I admired Danny for his courage, his strength, his cheerful nature and his deep faith. Danny will be missed.

There are six of Dan’s cousins from Arizona who are deeply saddened to learn of “Danny’s” passing. It seems that he was a very successful person. The last time we saw Danny was when he was a young teenager in Arizona! We want to convey our sympathy to his family. If any of his family would like to contact us in Arizona, Dan’s brother, Russ can let us know.

My brother, Dan, was the most amazing person I've ever known. He was smart, witty, and had a certain charm to him...I think it was his genuine nature that made you feel at ease around him.
I will miss our conversations and especially his patented chuckle.
Thanks Dan for being a part of my life. You touched the world around you more than you know.

One of my fondest teaching memories was working along side Danny while he taught Elementary Science. He was an amazing Science teacher. I learned so much from him. He was smart, witty, kind, hard working and highly dedicated. I will always remember him fondly. Hugs and prayers to his beautiful family and close friends.

As myself worked with Danny at the Middle School and his love and passion for our students were remarkable! He loved everything about Science! I met Teresa over the summer at Peebles and what a wonderful beautiful person! I always made an attempt to check on Danny as I knew at times he was so weak but that didn’t stop him! To see Danny push himself and go/teach as long as he could was truly amazing! His kind heart and soft sweet voice will always be remembered at our school! God Bless you Danny and to the entire family you find peace.

I was one of his students ten years ago almost, now graduated just recently from highschool and even my youngest sister loved him. He always was able to make my day and always had me interested in science, and I always smiled when I saw him. Knowing he’s gone now it feels like a piece of my childhood
Is gone, I hope he watches down on all his family and friends, rest in piece mr. Baker, I hope you’re teaching up there as well. Condolence to the family as well, he will Most definitely be missed. By students, family, friends, and neighbors.

Danny will be greatly missed by his school family. He will be remembered for the pure kindness he always displayed, for his deep faith and his genuine regard for others. This spring we spoke about his illness, his outlook on life and how he wanted to live and be remembered. He wanted people to know his deep faith allowed him to be at peace. I will never forget that conversation. To Teresa - thank you for being there for him. To Danny's family - our thoughts are with you through your loss.
