Obituary of Maxwell C. Morrison

STAR LAKE – Maxwell "Punk" C. Morrison, age 81, of Star Lake, passed away on October 3, 2019 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. His funeral service will be held at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Oswegatchie Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Max was born on November 29, 1937 in Oswegatchie to the late Maxwell Morrison, Sr. and Alice (Adams) Morrison. He married Peggy J. Clyde. The couple lived in Star Lake their entire marriage. Peggy passed away on September 18, 2014. Mr. Morrison began working as a groundskeeper for SUNY ESF Ranger School in Wanakena in 1964 and soon was hired as a custodian. He worked for the Ranger School for over 30 years. Max enjoyed steam trains, fly-fishing, hunting, and carpentry. He was a member of the NRA and a former member of the Clifton-Fine Rod and Gun Club. He was a very independent man who liked things done his way. In his younger years he had a wild streak and enjoyed racing his junk hot rods. His survivors include his son, Sidney C. Morrison of North Fort Myers, FL; his daughter, Samantha L. Morrison of Star Lake; grandson, Dillon C. Morrison; and many nieces and nephews.
