FOWLER- David F. Cole, age 50, of Rochester, but formerly of Gouverneur, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in Rochester. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Fullerville Cemetery in Fowler with Franny Knott officiating. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. David was born on October 1, 1968 at the family home in Hailesboro, to the late David L. Cole and Erline B. (Denton) Brown. He attended Gouverneur School and graduated from Potsdam Central School in 1986. A marriage to Diane Minkler ended in divorce and a relationship with a companion, Debbie Ashley also ended. David had worked as a sheet metal fabricator for many years. He took great pride in his work. For hobbies, David enjoyed going to the County Fairs, and a good chicken barbeque. He enjoyed bowling, music, movies, and the holidays with his family. He is survived by a brother, Ellis LaPlante; two sisters, Melody McCumber, & Tammy & Ray McIntosh. He has several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donations may be made in David's memory to Friends 4 Pound Paws Inc., PO Box 394, Gouverneur NY 13642.
