Obituary of Andrea S. Arquette

STAR LAKE - Andrea "Ande" S. Arquette, age 59, of Star Lake, passed away at home on February 19, 2013 under the loving care of her family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Calling hours will be at French Family Funeral Home, Star Lake, on Sunday, February 24th from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be on Monday, February 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Theodore Tate officiating. Andrea was born on July 11, 1953 in New Bedford, MA to the late Manual and Elsie (Correia) Simmons. She earned her Bachelor degree and worked as a Librarian for the New Bedford library system for 30 years. She married Steven R. Arquette, Sr. on August 11, 2001 in Oswegatchie and worked as the Director of the Cranberry Lake public library for 10 years and was also a substitute teacher at Clifton-Fine Central until her illness began in 2010. Ande was a strong person who fought through her illness and had the capacity to laugh until the very end. She loved her books and to take pictures. She enjoyed music and even taught herself to play the keyboard and violin. She is survived by her husband, Steven of Star Lake; a brother, Owen Todd Simmons of Cortland; three sisters, Gail Simmons and Carla Viator of New Bedford, MA and Heidi Walkden of Fall River, NY; her step children, Steven Jr. of Ohio, Nicholas of Star Lake, Ryan of Berne, NY, Kelly Harrienger of Watertown, Kerry Arquette of Herkimer; and 9 grandchildren.
