AMHERST/EDWARDS – Kenneth L. Jones of Amherst, NY entered into rest on December 31, 2018 at age 87. He was the beloved husband of Alice (Davila) Jones, devoted father of Lee (Patricia) Jones, Deborah (Richard) Teal, Bruce Jones, Brian Jones, Gary (Lydia) Jones, Ruth (Jon) Marsh, Michael (Scherrie) Boerschig, and Gregory (Tracey) Boerschig; cherished grandfather of 29 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; loving son of the late Everett and Mary Esther Jones; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by eight siblings. Mr. Jones was born in Hermon, NY, graduated from Edwards High School and went on to higher education receiving his PH. D from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He taught and coached in Brockport, at McQuaid High School and in Buffalo, NY. He was Director of the Ken Jones Basketball Camp for over 30 years, authored 2 books, "Defense: the Greatest Equalizer in the Game" and "Fighting Back: A Way of Dealing with Neurological Disorders", and for many years sponsored 2 scholarships offered at Edwards High School named after two favorite teachers, Margaret Smith and Ken Smith. There will be an hour of visitation held at French Funeral Home in Edwards on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
