Obituary of Roy Edward Jenne

RUSSELL- Roy Edward Jenne, age 96, of Russell, NY passed away peacefully with his wife by his side at Maplewood Nursing Home in Canton. Calling hours for Roy will be on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home in Edwards. His funeral service will be on Thursday, November 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at the South Russell Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Roy was born on November 27, 1921 in Hermon, NY to the late Frank and Leta (Brown) Jenne. He attended the Country School house on Blanchard Hill and then graduated from Knox Memorial in 1938. He entered into the United States Army Air Corp in 1942 and served until his honorable discharge in 1946. He married June (Loop) Fountain on October 12, 1986. Roy was the Post Master at the Hermon Post Office for 33 years, retiring in 1991. He loved sports. He loved playing them while he was in school and he loved watching them. He was also an avid golfer and bowler. Surviving is his wife, June; her children, Reggie Fountain of Edwards, Donald and Debbie Fountain of Russell, Steve and Noelle Fountain of Hermon and Rita Faye and Rich Thornton of Edwards; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Jenne and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Roy is predeceased by June's son, Dean Fountain; four brothers, Hazy, Leo, Francis and Bernard Jenne and a sister, Anna Medford. Donations may be made in Roy's memory to St. Jude, P.O.
