I had the honor of being her neighbor since 1986. She was the first to welcome me to the neighborhood. She quickly learned of my ties to Gouverneur and shared that My Aunt was one of her high school circle of friends. That circle of friends, I might add, remained in touch and would get together yearly for lunch for decades.
She shared remarkable bits and pieces of Gouverneur history.
At school during the 1990's and throughout St Lawrence county we celebrated the connection we have of the Oswegatchie River. Louise suggested we check out a piece of sheet music in the Gouverneur Museum that a local musician had written about the Oswegatchie River, we gratefully were able to use that as part of the county wide presentation.
She was a gracious, lady, with a sparkle in her eyes and a love of people.
My live is richer because of her presence in my life.
