Obituary of Horace C. Foster

STAR LAKE – Horace C. Foster, age 93, of Star Lake, passed away on October 31, 2018 at the Clifton-Fine Hospital. Mr. Foster has donated his body to science and there will be no services. Donations in memory of Horace may be made to the Star Lake Rescue Squad, PO Box 22, Star Lake NY 13690. Horace was born on August 10, 1925 in Fulton to the late Milo and Ethel (Lord) Foster. He was a graduate of the Fulton High School. Horace was a decorated WWII combat veteran of the 86th Infantry Division; having served in Germany and in the Philippines. He married Dorothy L. Rugg on August 16, 1947. She passed away in November of 1990. Horace worked as a commercial artist for various companies including Sealright Co, Inc. of Fulton, Regal Brothers of Newark, Mirabitos Groceries of Fulton and Ed Vayner and Associates in Fulton. He truly loved his work and often took side jobs hand lettering business and truck signs. Mr. Foster is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Joan Foster of Cranberry Lake; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Robert Kinville of Fulton; grandson, Jonathan; granddaughter, Mary; 2 great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Milo and Ethel (Lord) Foster; a sister, Marguerite Padgett; and 3 brothers, Ralph, Glenn and Morris Foster.
