Obituary of Courtney Diann McLamb

GOUVERNEUR - Courtney Diann McLamb, 23, formerly of Gouverneur, was called to Heaven on January 30, 2013 unexpectedly in her home in Pensacola, FL. Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur on Thursday, February 7th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with her dad, Leonard Nichols, speaking. Courtney was born on April 26, 1989 in Watertown to her mom, Virginia A. Mashaw Nichols and her biological father, Norman S. McLamb, but raised by her mom and dad, Leonard Nichols, III. Courtney graduated from Gouverneur High School in 2007 and received her BA in Community Health and Nutrition with a minor in Public Speaking in 2011. Courtney had a smile that could light up a room and she loved her family, especially her 5 brothers. She would do anything for her friends and family, putting everyone ahead of herself. She was truly an amazing artist, an animal lover, and a blessing to all who knew her. Courtney is survived by her mother and dad, Virginia and Leonard Nichols, III; her fianc, Anthony Carnigan of Pensacola; maternal grandmother, Diann Mashaw of Watertown; paternal grandparents, Norma and Kirby McLamb of NC; grandparents, Leonard and Debbie Nichols, Jr. of Gouverneur; her five brothers, Josten of Watertown, Gavin and Owen of Gouverneur, Sawyer and Hogan of NC; her biological father and his wife, Norman and Kelly McLamb of NC; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
