GOUVERNEUR – Minnie Marie McCumber, age 98, passed away on August 22, 2018 at the Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville.
There will be a calling hour at French Funeral Home in Gouverneur on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. followed by a committal service held in the East Riverside Cemetery.
Minnie was born on July 9, 1920 in Hermon to the late Phineas F. and Genevieve (Stalberd) Reed. She married Herbert W. McCumber on July 10, 1937 in Richville. Herbert passed away on August 4, 1979.
Minnie loved being with her family. She enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show and shopping.
Her survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Tebo of Harrisville; 6 grandchildren, Herbert Denton, Carrie McCumber, Melissa Phillips, James Tebo, Joseph Tebo and Jeffrey Tebo; 12 great grandchildren, James Tebo, Kenzie Augustus, Kase Tebo, Joseph Tebo, Kristyn Tebo, Trevor Tebo, Danny Tebo, Joshua Tebo, Ryan Tebo, Macy McCumber, Madison Dafoe and Mason Arnold; and 5 great-great grandchildren, Michael Tebo, Melinda Tebo, Evyn Augustus, Wyatt Tebo and Ethan Parow.
She is predeceased by a son, Herbert McCumber; a daughter, Marie Denton; her sisters, Lula Casselman, Anna Armes, Laura Barr, Helen Bressette, and Margarite Grandy; and 2 grandchildren, Herbert "Mack" McCumber Jr and Michelle Tebo.
