Obituary of Elizabeth M. Bishop

TALCVILLE – Elizabeth "Liz" Marie Bishop, age 69, of Talcville, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 under the care of her family and hospice. There will be a graveside service held in the Fairview Cemetery in Edwards on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Edwards. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Elizabeth was born on March 9, 1949 in Gouverneur to the late Dean J. and Doris E. (Clark) Bishop. She attended school in Talcville and Edwards. She worked as a painter and paper hanger for many years and was a member of the Painter's Union. Liz enjoyed hunting, fishing, and drinking beer. She was a good friend to all and enjoyed meeting with her Bible Study friends. Liz liked to cook, play the keyboard and sing, crochet, and work on crafts. She was also a member and past President of the Gouverneur Rod and Gun Club. Her survivors include her 2 daughters, Annette Smith and Christine Royce; 3 sisters, Doreen (Steward) Bush, Ruth (Charles) Dusharm, Eileen (David) McIntosh; 2 brothers, Barton (Jessie) Bishop and Alton (Cathy) Bishop. Liz is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Codey, Sallee, Annabelle, Sarah, and Roger Jr.; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth is predeceased by her partner for life, Brent "Pop" Gale who died in 2007.
