Obituary of Tamara L. Small

GOUVERNEUR- Tamara Lynn Small, age 35, of Gouverneur, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Gouverneur Hospital. Calling hours for Tamara will be on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Elizabeth Quick officiating. Condolences may be shared at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Tamara was born on April 23, 1982 in Oneonta, NY to Donald G. and Margaret A. (Eaton) Small. She attended school at Ogdensburg Free Academy. Tamara enjoyed crocheting, doing needle craft, camping and fishing. She was known for her rock hounding and loved going to the Herkimer Diamond Mines and looking for crystals. Tamara loved animals, but most of all, she enjoyed being a mother to her children. Surviving is her parents, Margaret and Shawn Finley of Depeyster; her fiancé, Edward Madill of Gouverneur; her four children, Sara A. Smith, Elizabeth R. Smith, Brooke L. Smith and Shawn A. Smith all of Gouverneur; two step sons, Jordan C. Madill of Gouverneur and Jonathan M. Madill of Ogdensburg; two brothers and their companions, Donald G. Small Jr. and Monica of Lisbon and Tyler J. Small and Danielle Walrath of Hailesboro; two sisters, Stephanie M. Small of Depeyster and Angela L. Small and her companion Troy Galligan of Massena and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tamara is predeceased by her father, Donald G. Small Sr.; her maternal aunt, Deborah M. Carpenter and her maternal grandparents, William H. and Doris C.
