Mrs. Foster was my 4th grade teacher between 1999-2020 (I think). I remember her fondly and always think of her when her birthday, December 4, rolls around. I am now in my 10th year of teaching and am so grateful for her and the other teachers who’ve influenced me to choose this career and calling!

When we first came to the North country, your Mom & Dad were among the first to extend their warm welcome. Through these many years they remained good friends. We have many fond memories with them that have left their imprint on our lives.
We and our children extend our sincerest condolences to all of the Foster family. We are just sorry that we are unable to be with you. You all have our love and are in our prayers.

A BIG THANK YOU TO SANDY'S FAMILY FOR PLACING HER OBITUARY IN THE JAMESTOWN NEWSPAPER. I WAS ONE OF THE FOUR "GALS" WHO TRANSFERRED TO CORTLAND FROM JCC.
SANDY WAS A DEAR FRIEND AND I KNEW SHE AND DICK WELL. YES, I WAS THERE DURING THAT BIG SNOWSTORM FOR THEIR WEDDING.
SEVERAL YEARS LATER WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I WERE WORKING AND LIVING AT CHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTION, WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE SANDY AND DICK AGAIN AS THEY PLANNED THEIR DAUGHTER'S WEDDING TO CAMERON KARSLAKE AND WE EVEN ATTENDED THE LOVELY EVENT.
SANDY AND I CHATTED WHEN ONE OF "THE FOUR" SUE HOWARD OLSON PASSED AWAY A FEW YEARS AGO.
I LOVED HEARING ABOUT THE FARM AND HOW MUCH SHE ENJOYED THE AREA. SHE WAS ALSO VERY PROUD OF ALL OF YOU AND PARTICULARLY SINCE YOU CHOSE THE FIELD OF EDUCATION.
WE TALKED AGAIN WHEN YOUR DAD PASSED. THEY WERE A GREAT COUPLE AND SO VERY DEVOTED.
I SHALL ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR GOOD TIMES AND WHAT A "GREAT FRIEND" SHE WAS.
I STILL LIVE IN THE JAMESTOWN AREA(LAKEWOOD) AND HAVE BEEN RETIRED FROM TEACHING FOR ALMOST 13 YEARS. MY HUSBAND WAS ALSOI A PHYS ED TEACHER, SO HE AND DICK GOT ALONG WELL (EVEN THOUGH MY HUSBAND WAS AN ITHACA COLLEGE GRADUATE )THE FEW TIMES THE FOUR OF US GOT TOGETHER.
MUCH LOVE TO ALL.

I'm very sorry to hear of Sandy's passing. Every day on the way to our respective schools, we'd pass each other in the same exact place every day, right at the corner of Clinton and East Main. We'd wave and be on our way. Sandy and Dick were very respected members of the Gouverneur community.

I remember how friendly and helpful Mrs. Foster was when I substituted at East Side School. Also, one of my favorite book club meetings was at "The Farm" - a warm welcome, good conversation, and delicious food. All trademarks of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Foster were such a postitive influence on our community - examples for us to follow.

I am so sorry to hear of this. I grew up down the street from Mr. and Mrs. Foster. All of us neighborhood kids just loved going to hang out in the Foster's backyard. Mr. and Mrs Foster's children were all grown up, but they just loved visiting with us. They were the "adopted" parents of all of us Wilson street kids. I am so glad to have known them both!

I worked at East Side with your mom and dad many years ago. They were both such wonderful people. Your mom was so kind to me with me being a new teacher, fresh out of college. And a memory of your dad I will always cherish is that he let one of my 1st graders bring in a snake after PE class and it got loose in my classroom. I was scared silly and the kids had to catch it. Wonderful times back in 1989. God Bless you and may you feel the love and peace of God at this sad time.
