Obituary for Irene N. Wing:

GOUVERNEUR - Irene N. Wing, age 58, of Gouverneur, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 12:00 -2:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Fr. Stephen Rocker of St. James Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Irene was born on August 15, 1954 in Gouverneur to the late Charles B. and Geneva N. (Schofell) Prashaw. She graduated from Gouverneur Central School and then went on to work as a home health care giver for many years working for Care Givers in Canton. Irene married Joseph H. Wing on August 29, 1976.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph of Gouverneur; three sons, Joseph A. Wing of Canton, Frederick A. Wing of Harrisville and Thomas H. Folsom of Gouverneur; three daughters, Julie A. Daniels of Canton, Carol M. Murdie of Harrisville and Tonya Fuller of Ft. Covington; a brother, Eugene B. Prashaw of Richville; a sister, Anna M. Roraback of Syracuse; Joe's aunt and uncle, Bonnie and Jim Barker; and several nieces and nephews.

Irene is predeceased by a daughter, Patsy Wing; two granddaughters, Leonia and Audrey Fuller; and a sister, Diane J. McCallops.
