We are sad to hear of Mary's passing. We had only in the last couple of years gotten back in contact with her and enjoyed our visit last year. Charlie's first real job as a teen was working with Mary and Bill during haying season. Her son was actually born while they were in the midst of the haying. They were both so kind to Charlie. He has reminisced often of his time with them. We are so sorry for your loss, but know all the fond memories of your love and family will help you get through this most difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss of “Mama Mary.” She was a precious lady, and I loved her very much. I will miss seeing her during winter visits to Alabama, and I will miss her sweet smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you say goodbye.

Our thoughts are with all the Martin family. I had a nice visit with Mary at Laurie's Jamboree a few weeks ago, and our visit brought back many fond memories of seeing her and Bill at Margaret's. Sympathies also to Barbie...

My sincere condolences to Mary's family. Mary and I became friends through the Eastern Star. We were District officers together and traveled St. Lawrence County and beyond together. We truly bonded as friends. I will miss her kind spirit and love of family. May she rest in peace. Until we meet again, Mary.

Mary made a very special and positive difference on many people's lives, including mine. I had the good fortune to live with Mary & Bill as a hired girl from the age of 14 util 18 (1956 - 1960). Thus becoming a member of the Martin family! Mary became my mentor and my 2nd Mother. Mary was very loving, kind, and caring; yet also a strong person full of spirit. She had a great sense of humor; not afraid to laugh at herself showing that wonderful smile and twinkling blue eyes! She set a wonderful example for her own children, other family and extended family members, friends, and many young people through her love for and dedication to the 4H program.
My husband, Harry (Thumper) and I will miss Mary, yet we know that she will live on in our hearts and in so many other's hearts through all that she shared of herself.

I’m so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. I remember her fun and jovial spirit she shared through 4-H and the Stars. Whenever I was visiting my grandparents and we would see Mary she had a smile in her eyes. I know my grandfather, Wallace Hurlbut, will miss talking to her.
Please know I am praying for your family at this time.
