Obituary of Doris Ann Hubbard

OSWEGATCHIE – Doris Ann (Bush) Hubbard, age 73, of Oswegatchie, died on Tuesday morning, August 29, 2017 at her with her family by her side. Calling hours will be held at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Anthony Pastizzo officiating. Burial will follow in the Oswegatchie Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Born May 5, 1944 in Gouverneur, NY, she was one of thirteen children born to the late John and Sarah "Ella" (Bebee) Bush. She attended Union High, Edwards Central and Clifton-Fine Central School. She lived in Oswegatchie most of her life. Doris worked as a waitress at Mountain Gate Café and in Dietary at the Clifton-Fine Hospital until retiring in June of 2009. She also sold Avon products for over 20 years, enjoying visiting with her customers. She enjoyed spending time with family, loved her six grandchildren dearly and her great grandchild to be. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards and listening to country music. She married Elisha Hubbard on June 16, 1961 in Pitcairn. Doris is survived by her 4children, daughter, Lisa (Hubbard) Johnson with her husband, Greg, residing in Fine; son, Randall (Randy) Hubbard residing in Star Lake; daughter, Karen (Hubbard) French with her husband, Herb, residing in Fine; daughter, Kathy Hubbard with her significant other, Harold Towne, residing in Star Lake; and 6 grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan French, Joshua and Sierra Phillips, and Anna Rae and Alex Hubbard, with an upcoming great grandson on the way. Doris is also survived by a sister, Mary Boyea and her husband, Bucky of Oswegatchie; and three brothers, John of Gouverneur, Nelson of Star Lake, and Earl and his wife, Kim of Oswegatchie; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Robin Dawn, 2 sisters, Myrtle Gotham and Jane Paro; and 6 brothers, Alex, Clifford, Richard (Dick), Stewart (Bill) George (Bob) and Francis (Frank).
