Obituary of Shirley H. Fowler-Huegen

Shirley Fowler-Huegen, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 after a short battle with cancer.
Shirley was born on June 1, 1930 to John Alfred Wilson and Edith Torrey and grew up in Syracuse, NY. She was the youngest of five children. On June 12, 1948, she married Robert M. Fowler. They were married for 41 years until Robert's death. Shirley retired after working as an engineer for General Electric in the aerospace division in Utica, NY. She remarried in 1991 and shared 12 years with Henry Heugen, who passed away in 2003, at her retirement home in Goose Bay on the St. Lawrence River.
Shirley enjoyed an active retirement, running 3 miles a day on her treadmill, reading, and she enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee and dominos with her family.
She is survived by two married sons, Robert and Gretal Fowler of Antwerp and William and Dagmar Fowler of Lafargeville; five grandchildren; a sister, Lucy Peren of Mattydale and several nieces and nephews and her precious dog, Tiny.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Memorial Cemetery in Clinton, NY. Shirley did not wish to have any services. Arrangements are entrusted to French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
