Obituary of Nancy Jenkins

GOUVERNEUR - Nancy Marie Jenkins, 59, of Gouverneur, passed away Monday, July 24th 2017 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse due to complications from Cancer treatments. She was surrounded by her husband and children. Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home in Gouverneur on Thursday, July 27, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be at the United Church of Richville on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Karen Taylor and Pastor David Hart officiating. Nancy was born August 25, 1957 in Gouverneur to Robert and Garnet (Bishop) Butler. She was married to Don Jenkins June 23, 1979. They had 3 children; Don Jr.(Chuck) his wife Brandi, Chad and his significant other Kiesha Smith, Jamie and her husband Bill Tupper. She had 10 grandchildren Kyle, Nick, Tyler, Trayton, Kiarra, Drew, Daughtry, Kendra, Kolby and Paisley. She is also survived by her Mother Garnet Butler, her Brother Larry Butler and her Sister Robin Boyer. She was a waitress for many years, a teacher's assistant at East Side Elementary School, the Gouverneur High School and BOCES. She cherished spending time with her loving family and especially her grandchildren. She loved helping out at the Richville School Snack Shack, she enjoyed singing, sewing, refinishing furniture, talking on the phone to her friends for hours, and she really enjoyed connecting with everyone on Facebook. Nancy was a very beautiful person inside and out, she loved everyone she met, she lit up the room with her presence and her contagious smile. She is predeceased by her father Robert Butler, her brother Robert Butler Jr, her sister Pat Butler, her sister Barbra Moore. Donations may be made to the Gouverneur Breast Cancer Fund.
