It is with a heavy heart that I write this. My thoughts and prayers are with the family in this difficult time. I have many fond memories of Bernard when he drove bus at Knox Memorial taking us home after a sports practice...always with a smile on his face and a positive word of encouragement. I also remember going to his Russell store for a quick soda, bag of chips or a candy bar. I think I really stopped in to just hear him tell a story or two. In the past few years when he and Phyliss were out for a drive we would wave when we passed each other on the road either heading into or out of Russell. Bernard was a special individual who made an impact on mine and countless other people's lives. I am fortunate and a better person for having having crossed paths with him. May he Rest in Peace.

Lori--believe it or not, I did not know that this was your Dad!!! Talk about foggy ladies!! I did know that Mr. Jenne was Larry's Dad. What wonderful contributions your Family has made to our St. Lawrence County young people! I am soooo sorry. Your Dad must be so proud of his children and I have had the special privilege of working with Lori and Larry(E-K and SLLBOCES BOEs)---and of course, Rick, an exceptional member of the E-K BOE---no kidding, Rick! lol. I was crushed when my wonderful Dad died and I can only imagine how you all must feel---It is a huge loss. I will really keep you in my prayers and hope for your peace and healing.

Although so many of my memories were of Bernard on our DeGrasse bus 33 and sports buses. He was so much more to so many of us, he was at almost every sport event I remember watching, cheering you all on along with the rest of us on. His love for sports was obvious and he passed it on through all of you. He was a wonderful man, thinking of you all. I will never forget him. I hope the love and wonderful memories help you through.

Lori, Jiggs, and everyone, so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I have a million great memories of him driving Bus 33. During the years when I was a kid without a dad, he always made me feel safe, and I'm grateful for that. Losing someone you love is hard, and everyone who knew him is going to miss him. Condolences to your family.

Goodbyes are so hard, especially this kind of goodbye. I will pray for this wonderful family's strength during this time of grief & mourning. May you find peace in the memories you have shared as a family. I'm positive there has been a lot of love shared in this family. I'm certainly glad to have had a small part in your lives at one time or another in one way or another. If I were closer in distance, I certainly would be there to give a hug or a handshake. I will be there in spirit & thankful I was able to know many of you. Huggggsss!

Phylis, Lori, Lynne and Family. We are so very sorry for your loss. Russell has certainly lost a great man, but he left behind a remarkable family to carry on his name. I have told you about the number of times he saved my life as a kid on his bus right? By coming back to pick me up when I wasn't ready. Mert would have killed me. Thanks again Bernard! R.I.P. You lived a great life and you deserve the rest and the peace!

So sorry to hear about Bernard's passing. He was such a big factor in my life growing up and although I haven't seen him in the last few years I thought of him and all of the Jenne family often.
Coaching pony league baseball, fishing on boyd pond, games of pepper, making syrup. And oh yeah the famous trip to watch the Expos and stay overnight in Montreal.
The good old days.
