GOUVERNEUR- Jacqueline A. Rohr, age 70, passed away on September 19, 2016 in DeKalb Junction under the care of her friends, Marj and John Frary, and Hospice.
There will be brief committal service at St. Henry's Cemetery in DeKalb Junction on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Jackie was born on May 8, 1946 in Ogdensburg, NY to the late Norbert and Lelia (Hitchman) Whiteford. She graduated from Hermon-Dekalb Central School and then she took a few college courses. She married William Rohr on February 14, 1981. Mr. Rohr past away on October 13, 1994.
Jackie worked as a Mental Hygiene Therapy Aid at the Wassaic Developmental Center in Wassaic, NY for 17 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Dekalb and Hermon senior citizens, was a former Hospice volunteer and a literacy volunteer. Jackie enjoyed going out with her friends.
Surviving is a son, William E. McGuinness and his companion, Kathleen Fountain of Hermon, two brothers, Norbert and his wife Joan Whiteford of Antwerp and Joseph Whiteford of Salinas, CA; a sister-in-law, Kathy Whiteford of Dekalb; three nieces, Kristen, Kelly and Shannon and a nephew, Scott Whiteford, and great nieces, Lynnley and Sonja Whiteford and Emma Rose.
Jackie is predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Jennifer Lee McGuinness; and two brothers, Michael and Patrick Whiteford.
