Obituary of Larry J. Folsom

FINE – Larry J. Folsom, age 67, passed away on route to Upstate Medical Center after falling at home on Thursday, August 4, 2016. Calling hours will be held at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. His funeral will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at the family's cabin in Fine. Larry was born on August 23, 1948 in Gouverneur to Clarence Folsom and the late Goldie (Hubbard) Folsom. He loved being outdoors, hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Larry worked for St. Joe Zinc Mine as a Master Electrician from 1966 until retiring due to disability in 2000. He had previously worked for Trudeau Lumber. He married Maxine Ward on January 14, 1967 at the Edwards Methodist Church. Larry is survived by his father, Clarence Folsom; his wife, Maxine Folsom; sons and their wives, Steve and Denise Folsom, Bruce and Kimberly Folsom, Douglas and Heather Folsom; and his daughter, Dianna Folsom. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Mallory, Jake, Natalee, Marie and Seth; brother, Roger Folsom and sister, Cora McCarthy. He is predeceased by his mother, Goldie Folsom, and a granddaughter, Kaylene Folsom.
