Obituary of Laura E. Morrissiey

OGDENSBURG – Laura Morrissiey Stinson, age 68, of Ogdensburg, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the United Helpers RiverLedge home where she has been a long term resident. Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with her funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Maple Grove Cemetery in Richville. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Laura was born on March 8, 1948 in Richwood, WV to the late Arthur L. Stinson, Sr. and Margaret E. Stinson. Laura loved cats, antiques, and plants. She found great enjoyment helping her mother with gardening. Laura was known for her sense of humor and amazing memory. She is survived by her son, Scott Zapolski, of Montrose, PA; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffery and Pam Stinson and their daughters Danielle and Morgan of Richville, NY; and brother Arthur Stinson, Jr. and his wife Sharon and their daughters Riannon and Liana of Montrose, PA; and brother Tyrone and sister-in-law Hope and their children Andrew, Elizabeth, Heather and spouses. In addition, her sister and brother–in-law, Cynthia and Roger Lucier of Rio Rico, AZ. Laura's family deeply appreciate the excellent care she received at United Helpers RiverLedge Home while a resident for the past 8 years. They provided a loving and warm environment with staff that excelled in their care of Laura both physically and emotionally.
