Obituary of Lucinda M. LaFrance

EDWARDS- Lucinda M. LaFrance, age 56, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her mother's home in Edwards under the loving care of her family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
Calling hours for Cindy will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 at French Funeral Home, Edwards. Her funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 13th at 11:00a.m. at the Edwards United Methodist Church with her uncle, Edward Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Hermon Cemetery. Lucinda was born on February 11, 1960 in Watertown, NY to Roger and Loretta (Miller) Averill. She attended General Brown Central School for a while, but graduated from Clifton-Fine Central School in 1978. She went on to graduate from Canton ATC, receiving her associate's degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Harwood Nursing Home and the Pediatric Office in Oswego. She worked at Clifton-Fine Hospital for 23 years, where she had advanced to the Director of Nursing and then Carthage Area Hospital. Cindy enjoyed camping, skiing, gardening, doing home décor and remained an avid reader throughout her life. She continued her education and advancement throughout her nursing career. Being a RN truly defined her love and compassion for others.
Cindy was briefly married to Vernon Jeffries from 1978-1980 and then in 1983 she married Andrew LaFrance.
Surviving is her mother, Loretta Averill of Edwards; two sons and their spouses, Ryan and Lee LaFrance of Cape Cod and Logan LaFrance and Matt Haverty of West Virginia; a daughter Alexis LaFrance and her fiancé, Anthony Migliore of Boston, Mass; a brother, Roger Averill of Glen Field, NY; two sisters, Brandy Averill of Edwards and Michelle Sovay of West Virginia and three grandchildren, Ryley LaFrance, Hunter LaFrance and Lorenza Migliore.
Cindy is predeceased by her father, Roger Averill.
