Obituary of Thomas H. Flynn

STAR LAKE-Thomas H. Flynn, 78, passed away peacefully at Samaritan Medical Center on July 5 with his loving family at his side. Born in Watertown, son of Harvlin and Alice (Marskell) Flynn, he was a graduate of Watertown High School and the New York State Police Academy. He was a member of the New York State Police scuba diving team and retired in 1991 after serving 30 years with Troop B. He is survived by his wife Sharon (Nolan) , a daughter Erin (Dan) Boshart, Carthage; his beloved granddaughter, Hannah Boshart; two sons, Jonathan (Jenine), Forked River, N.J., and Joseph, Fort Lauderdale, FL; two brothers, James, Shnecksville, Pa., and Paul, Port Aransas, Texas; two step-grandsons, Jeffrey Boshart and Jason Treloar; and nieces and nephews. He was a communicant of St. Hubert's Catholic Church, Star Lake, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer fireman for the Star Lake Fire Department, where he served as a commissioner for many years. Tom was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially surf fishing while spending winter months in Florida. His greatest love was that of home and family. Arrangements are with the French Funeral Home, Star Lake. Calling hours will be Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.. A memorial Mass will be said at St. Hubert's Catholic Church in Star Lake on Monday, July 11th at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow at Cranberry Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Star Lake Rescue Squad or the Wanakena Historical Association.
