Obituary of Edward G. Drake

STAR LAKE – Edward Gerald Drake, Jr., age 55, of Star Lake, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at home. Calling hours will be held at French Family Funeral Home, Star Lake on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. His funeral service will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Philip Giardino officiating. Ed was born on August 4, 1960 in Star Lake to Patricia (Guiles) Drake and the late Edward G. Drake, Sr. He graduated from the Clifton-Fine Central School and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Mahoney's Construction. He married Cindy L. Martin on August 27, 1988. Ed was a member of the Fine Sportsmen Club and enjoyed hunting, camping, going to the casino and riding his four-wheeler. Ed especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. His survivors include his mother and her husband, Patricia and Donald Pomerville; his wife, Cindy Drake; son, Edward III and Majonica Drake; daughter, Amanda and Jordan Ingraham; brother, Daniel and Penny Drake; sister, Kim and Darrell Cooper; step-brothers, Donald and Rosie Pomerville, Timothy and Beth Pomerville; and step-sister, Julie and Ricardo Werthmann. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Kaiden Brunet and Carson LeRoux, has 2 more grandchildren on the way; his mother-in-law, Mary Martin; and many nieces and nephews. Ed is predeceased by his father, Edward Drake, Sr.; a son, Michael Boshane; and his father-in-law, Nelson Martin. Donations in memory of Ed may be made to the Star Lake Fire and Rescue , P.O.
