Obituary of Eleanor Ruth Flint

TUPPER LAKE – Eleanor Ruth Flint, age 69, of Tupper Lake and formerly of Newton Falls, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at home under hospice care. Calling hours will be at French Family Funeral Home, 4159 State Hwy. 3, Star Lake NY, on Thursday, September 17th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in the Cranberry Lake Cemetery will be held at a later date. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Eleanor was born on August 15, 1946 in Black River to the late Clifford and Beatrice (Munro) Waters. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1962. A marriage to Thomas Flint in September of 1969 ended in divorce. Eleanor worked as a legal secretary for Sunmount Developmental Center for 7 years. She has previously been a waitress for most of her life and worked for various businesses. She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, knitting and reading. She had crocheted comforters for the veterans that were at Mercy in Tupper Lake. Her survivors include her son, Michael of Tupper Lake; three sisters, Marion Provost of Newton Falls, Evelyn Smithson of Norfolk, VA, Shirley LaBreck of Hanover, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Eleanor is predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth Wideman and Mary Waters; and brothers, Michael and Clifford Waters.
