Obituary of Timothy C. Stowell

GOUVERNEUR- Timothy C. Stowell, age 67, of Gouverneur, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. There will be a Celebration of Life and pot luck for Tim on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Riverview Park in Gouverneur with Pastors Michael Tomford and David Sheppard officiating. Tim was born on July 3, 1948 in Gouverneur to Charles D. and Elizabeth J. (Goodison) Stowell. He graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1966 and married JoAnne Simmons on April 13, 1974 at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. Tim worked as a contractor from the time he was 18, working for various contracting companies and owning a few of them as well. He loved to cook, and in 2008, he decided to further his love of cooking and became part owner of the Oswegatchie Coffee Co. with his daughter, Kammi. Tim loved to work, and one of his life's works was to introduce people to the Lord. He was part of the Kairos Prison Ministry and was very proud of that. Tim was also a true family man. His family was such a big part of his life. He also enjoyed watching sports. Tim is survived by his wife, JoAnne; his mother, Elizabeth Stowell of Gouverneur; two sons, Clinton and his wife Lindsay Stowell of Gouverneur and Spencer Stowell and his fiancé Cindy Custer of Rockville, MD; two daughters, Kammi and her husband Juan Hernandez and Julia Stowell both of Gouverneur; a brother and his wife, Jeffrey and Connie Stowell of Gouverneur; and eight grandchildren, Cam'ron Carter, Hunter Stowell, Levi Stowell, Ethan Carter, Charles Stowell, Sydney Stowell, Gabriel Hernandez and Joseph Hernandez. He is predeceased by his father, Charles D. Stowell. Tim's family has requested that instead of making donations in his memory, that you help another person out who needs it in one form or another and just continue to pay it forward.
