Obituary of Walter "Bill" Provost

NEWTON FALLS – Walter "Bill" Provost, age 73, of Newton Falls, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Clifton-Fine Hospital in Star Lake. There will be a graveside service on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cranberry Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are with French Family Funeral Home, Star Lake. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Walter Provost was born on April 24, 1942 in the town of Clifton, NY. He was a son of the late Raymond "Moon" and Kathleen (Hitchcock) Provost. Bill had attended the Clifton-Fine Central School. Bill retired from the Newton Falls Paper mill in 1999 after 39 ½ years of employment. He retired as an operator in the skid shop. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was involved in several sports in his younger years. His survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frederick "Frenchie" and Laura Provost of Fine and Robert V. and Patricia Provost of Oswegatchie. He is predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Doug Provost, Raymond "Wob" Provost, and Gerald Provost.
