Obituary of Beulah May Walsh

ROSSIE – Beulah May Swem Walsh, age 87, passed away peacefully in her home on June 3, 2015. Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur, on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor David Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in the Rossie Cemetery. Beulah was born at home in the town of Antwerp on May 7, 1928 to the late Charles Marion and Irene (Streeter) Swem. She graduated from the Hammond High School in 1947. Beulah married Robert James Walsh on September 27, 1951. She helped run the family farm in Rossie which has been in the Walsh family since the 1840's. Robert passed away on February 11, 2008. Mrs. Walsh appreciated the good company and friendships received from her care givers. She always looked forward to a good conversation with her family and lifetime friends. Beulah loved Sunday outing and going for car rides. She was a member of the Rossie Community Center and the former Rossie Presbyterian Church. Her survivors include; four sons, James and Cathy of New Haven, VT, Harold and Phyllis of Rossie, Allen and Marcia of Brier Hill, David of Rossie; a daughter, Christine and Rob Sitts of Gouverneur; her sister, Betty Hutton of Gouverneur; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Swem of Sommerville 8 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
