Obituary of Robert D. Hall

BRASIE CORNERS – Robert "Bob" D. Hall, age 90, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 26, 2015, at the Gouverneur Hospital. Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. His funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Revs. David Sheppard and Eric Harblin officiating. Burial in the Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Brasie Corners, will be at a later date. Bob was born in Watertown on May 29, 1924 to the late Ralph and Helen (Ingram) Hall. He attended schools in Heuvelton and Gouverneur and married Zelema M. Venton on June 12, 1945 at the Gouverneur Methodist parsonage with Rev. Harold Thomas officiating. Bob, his wife, and children ran their family dairy farm on the California Road in Brasie Corners. He was a very good softball player, enjoyed playing shuffleboard and cards, and watching the horse races. He also liked to fish and hunt, and having his children and grandchildren around always put a smile on his face. His survivors include his wife, Zelema; his son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Carla Hall; four daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Stephen Miller, Joann and Stephen Smith, Laurie and Mark Leonard, Diane and Daniel Lallier; his sister, Patricia White; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and a sister, Ilene Matty.
