Obituary of Barbara Jean Moore

RICHVILLE – Barbara Jean Moore, age 56, of Richville, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice. Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Karen Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the East DeKalb Cemetery. Barbara was born in Gouverneur on March 6, 1959 to Robert Butler and Delores "Garnet" (Bishop) Butler. She attended the Gouverneur Central School. Barbara married Randy Moore on September 29, 1978 in Texas. Randy passed away on July 2, 2006. Mrs. Moore worked as a cashier for P&C Foods for many years. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and going to the casino. Her survivors include her mother, Garnet Butler of Ocklawaha, FL; her daughter, Brandy Moore and her companion, Shawn Crawn of Gouverneur; her son and his wife, Jayson and Melissa Moore of Richville; a brother, Larry Butler of Parishville; and two sisters, Nancy and Don Jenkins of Gouverneur and Robin Boyer of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Barbara is predeceased by her father, Robert Butler; her husband, Randy Moore; a brother, Robert Butler, Jr. and a sister, Patricia Butler.
