Obituary of Yvonne B. Simmons

FOWLER- Yvonne "Bonnie" Simmons, age 64, of Fowler, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Gouverneur Hospital. Calling hours for Bonnie will be on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Her funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 31st at 11:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Gouverneur with Pastor Robert Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the South Russell Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Bonnie was born on December 28, 1949 in Kalamazoo, MI to the late Thomas W. and Thelma L. (Fifield) Jeanette. She was raised by her mother and step father, Oscar Ordway. Bonnie graduated from Knox Memorial Central School in Russell. She married Edward "Big Ed" Simmons on February 25, 1972. Ed passed away on August 27, 2007. Bonnie worked at Corning Glass for twenty years. She enjoyed helping out at her church at various functions. She also enjoyed sewing and playing computer games. Surviving are two sons, Edward and Desiree Simmons of Fowler and Travis Simmons of Fowler; a daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Barry Fretwell of Harrisville; two half brothers, George and Jeff Jeanette; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Bonnie is predeceased by her husband; a brother, Thomas Jeanette and a half brother, David Jeanette. Donations may be made in Bonnie's memory to the Friends 4 Pound Paws, P.O.
