Obituary of Marjorie Grace Love

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL- Marjorie Grace Love, age 91, of Zephyrhills, FL and formerly of Gouverneur, NY, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 in Zephyrhills, FL. Calling hours for Marjorie will be on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur with her funeral service immediately following at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with her daughter, Pastor Gloria Strong officiating. Marjorie was born on March 30, 1923 in Hermon, NY to the late Lewis and Grace (Leonard) Rice. She attended Edwards Central School and then went on to Oswego Hospital for nurses training, where she became an LPN. Marjorie married Donald W. Love Sr. on February 22, 1940 at her parent's home in Edwards with Rev. Louis Rose officiating. Donald passed away on March 1, 1988. She married James Love on December 28, 1990 at their home in Zephyrhills, FL. Mrs. Love was a homemaker, raising her seven children; she was also a nurse at Oswego Hospital for many years, and for several years she also ran the toy department at JJ Newberry's Store at Christmas time. Marjorie was the past treasurer of the Christian Church in Zephyrhills, FL. She loved to read, travel and crochet. She especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, James Love of Zephyrhills, FL; two sons and their wives, Thomas and Linda Love of Depeyster and Lewis and Pam Love of Zephyrhills, FL; four daughters and their husbands, Gloria and William Strong of Gouverneur, Rita and Carl LaDue of Chazy, NY, Donna and James Garwood of Dalton, NY and Marjorie and Forrest King of Weatherford, TX; 71 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 27 great-great grandchildren. Marjorie is predeceased by her son, Donald W. Love II, who passed away in 2014; four brothers, Clifford, Vernon, Lewis and Merton Rice; and two sisters, Marion Morgan and Luella Hambrick.
