EDWARDS- Wayne Charles Lawrence, age 66, of Edwards, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Calling hours for Wayne, will be on Wednesday, June 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Edwards. His funeral service will be on Thursday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with his brother-in-law, Pastor Orville Eacker officiating. Burial will follow with Military honors at Fairview Cemetery in Edwards. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Wayne was born on August 11, 1947 in Hermon, NY to Sarah (Woodside) Perrin and the late Walter F. Perrin. He graduated from Hermon-Dekalb Central School in 1965 and then he attended SUNY Oswego. On February 20, 1968 he entered into the United States Navy and there he served until his honorable discharge on December 24, 1971. Wayne worked as a maintenance planner for the Newton Falls Paper Mill. He married Lorraine Grace Ferry on December 20, 1986 in the Town of Edwards. Wayne was a member of the Stepping Stone Ministries and the Edwards Lions Club. He was a skilled woodworker, enjoyed bird watching and was a great fishing partner. Wayne had devoted many hours constructing Christmas decorations for the Town of Edwards. Wayne is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Edwards; his mother, Sarah Perrin of Hermon; two sons, Michael and Krista Lawrence of Richville and Jimmy Fenn of Edwards; two daughters, Brandy and Scott Moore of Daleville, AL and Julie Fenn and Andy Hadlock of Munnsville, NY; a brother, Walter Perrin and Teresa Gibbon of Norfolk; two sisters, Gloria Leyba of Phoenix, AZ and Barbara and Dan Creazzo of DeKalb Jct.; six grandchildren, Brandon Wood, Michaela Lawrence, Dawson Fenn, Kenley Hadlock, Danielle Bullock and Dustin Bullock and several nieces and nephews. Donations may be made in Wayne's memory to the Stepping Stones Ministries, 165 Smith Rd. Gouverneur, NY 13642 or to the Edwards Lions Club, P.O. Box 167, Edwards, NY 13635.
