Obituary of Timothy J. Thomas

OSWEGATCHIE - Timothy "Tim" J. Thomas, age 52, passed away on April 16, 2014 at the St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Tim grew up in Oswegatchie, NY where his parents still reside and has lived in Moore, OK for the past 5 years. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in the Oswegatchie Cemetery with Rev. Mark Gilbert officiating followed by a reception held at the Fine Town Hall. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Edwards. Tim was born on May 23, 1961 in Gouverneur to Jack C. and Margaret M. (Baker) Thomas. He was a graduate from the Clifton-Fine Central School and moved down South when he was 18 years old. Tim was a self employed truck driver and mechanic. He owned and leased many trucks and truly enjoyed traveling on the road. He has been in all of the lower 48 states and would have driven to Hawaii if possible. In his free time, he loved being outdoors. He liked to hunt, fish, and trap. A marriage to Julie Dale Goss ended in divorce after 21 years. He is survived by his parents, Jack and Margaret Thomas of Oswegatchie; his brother and companion, Jack Thomas, Jr. and Margaret Fuller of Edwards; Jack and Margaret's children, Chakriya Thomas and Caleb Fuller; his brother-in-law, Phillip Richards of Potsdam; his girlfriend, Janice Mortley of Moore, OK, and several nieces and nephews. Tim is predeceased by his sister, Ellen Towne Richard in 2011. Donations in Tim's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse NY 13220.
