Obituary of Edwin Clinton Storie

ROSSIE - Edwin Clinton Storie, age 69, of the Yellow Lake Drive in Rossie, passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2014 at home. Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Hailesboro Cemetery. Ed was born in Gouverneur on January 21, 1945 to the late John P. and Ella L. (Brasie) Storie. He graduated from the Gouverneur High School in 1963 and received his Associate degree from Canton A.T.C. After college, Ed worked as a mechanic then was a methods technician for Black Clawson in Watertown for three years. He worked as an Advertising Manager for M.R.S. Printing in Gouverneur for four years before selling insurance starting in 1975 for the American Agricultural Magazine and North American Insurance Company. Ed decided to be become a self-employed insurance salesman in 1990 and continued to do so until his retirement in 2007. When he was younger, Ed loved time spent in the woods hunting and fishing. He recently became a member of the Gouverneur United Methodist Church Choir and his biggest pleasure was sharing God's word, singing in many of our area churches. His survivors include three brothers and their wives, Wayne and Betty of Florida, Thomas and Caroline of Florida, Robert and Darlene of Edwards; his sister, Jenny Kent of Weedsport; a sister-in-law, Linda of Macomb; and many nieces and nephews.
