GOUVERNEUR - Mary Caroline (Lenahan) Swift of Gouverneur passed away at the age of 85 at the Gouverneur Hospital with her family at her side. Her service will be private. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be made online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com Mary was born on May 30, 1928 in Russell to the late Worth J. and Mildred P. (Fleming) Lenahan. She married William Edward Swift on February 26, 1949 at the groom's parents' home officiated by Rev. Harold Thomas. Mr. Swift passed away on April 14, 2002. Mrs. Swift is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl S. Hay of Richville, Carol S. Swift of Gouverneur; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hay, Julie Weaver, Michelle Wallis and Christopher Honsky; and seven great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and all of her brothers and sisters. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Gouverneur Hospital Auxiliary, 77 W.
