FINE - Charles "Old Timer" Rodney Finley, age 59, of Fine, passed away at home on February 8, 2014 under the loving care of his family and Hospice. At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering for all family and friends to attend at the Star Lake Fire Hall on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 3pm. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Edwards. Condolences may be made and shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 7, Syracuse NY 13057. Charles was born on March 15, 1954 in the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY. He was the only child of the late Rodney and Edith May (Peck) Finley. Charles was a self employed logger, operating Redneck's Logging. He had previously worked for Bruce Haynes in Colebrook, NY. Mr. Finley moved from the Catskills to his parents' home on the Crackerbox Road at the age of 14. He married Dawn M. Tucker on June 29, 2013 at their home. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and playing with his bulldozer. He loved time spent with his grandchildren and cutting timber. He lived for his passion and spent as much time as possible outside. His survivors include his wife, Dawn Finley; five children, Jessica and Terry Wendt, Jr., Rodney C. Finley and Liz Barlow, Amanda J. Finley, Jessica Rusaw and Desiree R. Tucker; eight grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
